Life in 2018: Year in Review

8 Hours til 2019. Let’s review 2018 !

? 2 years in Master of Data Science came to an end. During my last semester, I literally live in thesis room and tutor room at Monash  It was painful but valuable time to learn how research works nonetheless.
.
? Thank you professor Kim for being an awesome supervisor for my thesis, and also gave me the opportunity to become a Data Visualization tutor at Monash. Although it was a bit weird to be one of the few Master students who tutored units in Master program.
.
? Worked with Data Science for Social Good project at Monash. I was developing data visualization dashboard for global e-book pricing. This work has been published on a paper and shared in global conferences. The online version of visualization (all sensitive information removed) can be found here: http://elendingproject.org/
.
? Went back to #YWC15 on the new year. Young Webmaster Camp was the origin of my web development career in the past 8 years. I am glad it is continuing to produce high-quality people in web industry every year.
.
? Watched top players in Australian Open 2018 Tie Break Tens so close to the court. This is one of my dream when I was watching Thailand Open at home more than 10 years ago
.
? The first time in my life to get scammed in web development service via online email. Read more here >>https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10158189483719619&set=pb.604234618.-2207520000.1546233768.&type=3&theater
.
? Watched an epic rock concert #G19 in Thailand. I cannot thank P’Chol enough for such a wonderful opportunity! (The ticket was sold out long before I know I can go)
.
? Organized WordCamp Bangkok 2018 with great team of organizers and staffs. This year the event is becoming bigger and we had ~500 people attending including marketers, designs, developers, and users from around the world. See everyone again soon
.
? Organized my first data science courses (Machine Learning in R, Basic Data visualization ) and data science meetup (Data Science Talk Chill) with P’ Kasidis. I am excited to see the data science industry in Thailand becoming bigger every year!
.
? Had my first (and last) wedding with Kessurang. We did not have much time to prepare since I had to fly back to start a full-time job. Thanks to our parents, we managed to have a wonderful wedding (in my opinion)
.
☺️ Joined the data science consultancy company Servian. It was one of the best decisions in my life. This is the first time I learned about cloud computing and got my first AWS certificate. I also won the internal AWS hackathon, and received a flight ticket to AWS re:Invent 2018. Thanks toJeno who tagged me along!
.
? Last year I attended Melbourne Datathon 2017 and did not get into the top 10. This year my team and I won the 2nd place in Melbourne Datathon 2018, one of the largest datathons in Melbourne. Thanks toBharath Jeno Leon Vinny for your great effort!
.
? I finally moved house after 2 years of coming to Melbourne. It would be a bit difficult to do it on my own, however, I received great help fromDung Thang Vinny to help moving and assembling IKEA furnitures. Thank you! (Thank you Max for the dining chairs as well)
.
? 12 years of missing someone is a long time. I met my best host momMindy once again in Las Vegas. Thank you for being there when I was a highschool student struggling to feel comfortable in the foreign country. I will make sure to find an excuse to visit you again
.
.
It’s been a long year! Thank you, next.
